Amazing how drained I feel after giving any talk but most especially a sermon. Satisfied, yes but drained. I really felt that I was carried along this morning which was all the more remarkable given the slightly less than satisfactory (in my view) state of the preparation!
There was a positive response though including one convinced that there was much perparation behind it- if only he knew how little there was compared to some of my other talks!
Mind you it was a talk that had been a lifetime in the making. I am sure that praying for a protracted period this morning really helped. Who was it who said they invested in prayer like it was the only thing that would give them proffit?
