Unchurched beware!

Mac has gone too far this time. If he hadnt gone too far already with his original comment this certainly is beyond the pale-

Sure,.but that was back then in a time when godly churches actually existed and were there for each other. Nowadays, such churches have been replaced by the "synagogues of Satan." Those so adamant about driving me to church are probably not aware that they attend such a synagogue themselves.

Where on earth is your theology of the sovereignty of God? O yes, I forgot you don't believe in that either! Jesus clearly said in Matthew 16:18 'I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.' He is still building his church, and to write off all modern churches as synagogues of satan is frankly offensive.

May I warn you ever so severely that such comments appear to me to be ever so close to what Jesus confronted in Mark, and in fact called blasphemy against the Holy Spirit- which to my mind is attributing his work to the enemy. I am not accusing you of committing this sin, but it would seem to me that such comments go way too close to it for my liking.

Mark 3: 22ff And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, He is possessed by Beelzebul, and by the prince of demons he casts out the demons. 23 And he called them to him and said to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.

28 Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin 30 for they had said, He has an unclean spirit.

You have persistantly refused to interact with the bible in any serious way on this subject. To be honest I had hoped better of you, especially when initially you seemed to be moderating your position.

I tire of this debate, but feel I must close by praying that God will deliver you from a dangerous delusion and open your eyes to the fact that whilst there are some churches that are not exactly doing things God's way, the church is still very much a part of Gods plan. You simply cannot dismiss it in this way and still claim to be a follower of Christ. I have had less concern about your temporary absense from church, than about your incredible attacks on churches and those in them.

Perhaps we had better just draw a line under this and move on.
