University Blog recently asked about this in my comments section, and there may be some confusion from others.

The Blogdom of God is really two distinct things that are largely overlapping but not entirely!

The first is what is an aggregator. This is a collection of recent posts from member blogs all posted on one page in date order. Not every blog has a rss/xml/atom feed so it tends to be a smaller list, although partly for historical reasons there are some blogs in it that are not in the list at the truth laid bear.

As far as the BLogdom of God Alliance at the truth laid bear is concerned, this is simply a list of poeple who identify themselves as 'God Blogs'. I dont have the time to police it, or make detailed judgements about who should be in, but clearly if I got to hear taht one of the blogs was truly objectionable and should not be in there I reserve the right to take an autocratic decision and kick them out! I have considered doing just that once or twice but have not done so yet!

Thus really all you need to do to join the blogdom of God is just ask. On the aggregator page is instructions about how to add the entire blogdom of God alliance list to your blog. You do NOT have to do that to join. In the interests of fair play it would be nice if people who joined were willing to add a link to their blogroll to at least a few of the current blogdom sites- after all there are a significant number of blogs out there who DO include the whole list so you will be getting free links.

SO why do it? Well I do think it helps to bring some less prominent blogs to the fore and that can be a good thing. Also, it helps us to remember we dont blog into a vacuum. It was born out of my belief that we all need to link to each other and interact more (and that is true within 'God blogs' and outside that definition I grant you!). For me blogging should be about interaction which I guess is why perhaps the statistic I am most proud of in my blog is that I have placed over 1,000 links in it! Thus, we help one another find things that interest us. Such a concept is what has made google so successful. Blog links can really make a difference- so when Patriot Paradox had to decamp to a different site for example, a few well placed blog links quickly meant that google finds his new site before his old one! So I hope that makes some sense.

Blog like crazy and if any blogger can show they have more than 1000 outgoing links then I promise them a mention here!!!!!
