Blogdom of God: proposed new entry requirements

Blogdom of God: proposed new entry requirements August 14, 2004

Entry requests for the Blogdom of God our loose affiliation of self-declared ‘God bloggers’ are coming in regularly. It has grown beyond my wildest dreams! I apologise if you have tried to join and I havent got to you yet. Generally if I haven’t done it in a week or so its worth emailing to gently remind me.

I want to make some changes to the entry requirements. These will have no effect on those already in (not least because I don’t want to go through all the blogs to check them!). Having said that, it would be great if those already in the blogdom would condider complying with the second and third items. They are open for consultation, and I am willing to hear any objections to them or alternative proposals in the comments of this post.

I would like to ask people to do the following before submitting their site-

1. Join their blog to the Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem. This has to occur to join the list as it is managed by the Truth Laid Bear.
2. Add a link to The Blogdom of God on their webpage pointing to the address in this link
3. Either add links on their site to at least 5 blogs of their own choice which are already in the Blogdom of God or add the entire Blogdom of God blogroll using the code listed on the Blogdom of God’s homepage. Many blogs joining the blogdom of God will find that they already meet this criteria.
4. Please then send me an email to adrian@warnock.info and submit an RSS/XML feed at the same time. If you are a blogspot blog please run your feed through a convertor such as found at Cavedoni first. I cannot guarentee a quick response but if you are nice to me I may be quicker (links to my personal blog always go down well!). If you have not heard anything within a couple of weeks please do send me another email.

I do not propose to add any further restrictions for example on theology not least because I cannot be a judge and jury. If there are blogs that appear in the list that are objectionable or illegal I do reserve the right to remove them- any complaints about an individual blog’s suitability should be directed to me in an email- please do not make any such call publically on your blog. I will call together an ad hoc group of Blogdom of God members of my choosing to consider the merits of any such complaint so it is not just me doing so.

Currently, I am not processing new members to the Blogdom of God, instead, people can join the Evangelical Aggregator (which is in turn a member of the blogdom of God and aggregates there) and ask Stephen to include them in the Blogdom of God aggregator. If you want into the BofG and are not evangelical, you can join one of the other aggregators which are being included in the aggregator, and there should shortly be some other member aggregators which can also add you to the blogdom of God blogroll.
