Cementing a partnership

Jollyblogger and I have been blogging along together for so long that we thought it was time to more formally acknowlege our partnership in our sidebars. We really do find ourselves blogging along together more than any other pair of bloggers I have seen. Once we even posted on the same subject within a minute of each other!

I have yet to find another blogger in the same league as David. Maybe its because we agree on so much that I feel this resonnance with him.

If you find nothing new here in one of my frequent short pauses in blogging that real life causes, do either explore the archives complete with my bursts of increased activity or better yet pop over and see what my blogging partner has been saying.

For me the most satisfying bit about blogging is bouncing off others and I love it when there is a subject that David and I are exploring together. Its great when others also blog along with us. The best sort of blogging is triggered by a post on someone elses site, and then expands on that post possibly taking it in another direction. It is that slightly delayed interaction which is very satisfying. Sometimes dare I say it, almost more satisfying than talking about a particularly complex subject. Blogging has the advantage over talking of giving you a chance to collect your thoughts before you answer. One of the easiest blogging errors to fall into is to forget to do just that of course.

That reflection and careful consideration that knowing your words can be read by anyone in the world including your boss at work, your pastor, your non-christian friend is a good discipline. I hope it helps us to think things through in this virtual world. It is possible to develop online friendships like I have with David.

But having said all that, blogging will never take the place of face to face interaction. Real friendships and being part of a real-life community are even richer than meeting online. It does sadden me, however, how hard it is these days to find people who want to talk in real life about some of the things that interest me here on my blog. I hope one day to meet jollyblogger face to face. I trust that each of you reading this have a satisfying life "offline". I can assure you that despite appearances to the contrary sometimes (vis a vis my blogging output) I do have a rich and full life.

Today I heard of a well known church leader who died suddenly at aged 50. That and other recent events have reminded me how important it is to live the life we have for we dont know how long we have got. Enjoy your life with family friends, church and work you only have one.
