Blog widows take note, and the rest of us its time to pray for your favorite blogger

JOLLYBLOGGER muses on his current absense from blogging:

"Your wife, who usually tells you to get off the computer, quit blogging and come to bed, says 'honey, you haven't blogged in three days.' Then when it's the fourth day and you still haven't blogged she says 'you better blog something, there are people out there expecting something from you.' So I say to her 'who are you and what have you done with my wife............ with it being Valentine's week and all, I have decided to try and be a decent husband for at least a few days and have watched two chick flicks at home with my wife this week and have actually taken my wife out on two, yes that's right, two dates this week (yes, I typed that last sentence with one hand while patting myself on the back with the other). We went to see Hitch last night and it was hilarious - definitely one of my favorite movies in quite some time. I'm sure I'll go back to being the lousy husband I usually am come Tuesday."

Jollyblogger requested some prayer for situations he faces. It struck me that many of us bloggers are right out in the front line. I would certainly like to add my request to his that you pray for us- especially prominent bloggers like those in the decablog. There are many and varied temptations that are common to all men, and I am sure the devil would love to pick off a prominent christian blogger into sexual sin, a broken marriage, a lost faith, discouragement or some other way of frustrating the work. There are also temptations more specific to being a prominent blogger like neglecting to assist other bloggers, pride in ones position, self-seeking, and at times a lack of grace for others who disagree. It is a vulnerable medium in which one can easily be misunderstood. I know I have been described both as arrogant and very gracious with those who I disagree with- maybe both are true at different times.

What would be really nice is if some of my readers could pick one or two bloggers and committ to pray for them- why not let them know you are doing so, it would be a great encouragement.
