Blogger challenge - authority, gender and the bible

Its about time I did a round up of the last blogger challange I set a while back. Certain events have delayed me posting this, and for that I apologise. I have been so humbled and impressed by these answers that I simply cannot pick a "winner". I hope everyone who took the challenge feels they have benefited even half as much from doing it as I have from reading the entries. So here goes, but please let me know if I missed anyone!

True grit takes up the challenge with boldness. My mommy life intersperses biblical explanation with her own story of having previously been a radical feminist. Coffee Girl Thoughts highlights the importance of humility to all of this. Blogging husband and wife team Paul and Becky hone in on headship. Pseudo-polymath demolishes the modern notion of "rights".

A frim nail zooms in on submission and explains its limitations and that it doesnt make the person doing the submitting inferior. Rocks cries out reminds us that all this humility does come with a promise of a reward from our Master.

Rev Bill says: "God is the supreme authority, all worldly authority needs to be understood as coming from God, and should be used to better serve others. When we begin feel that authority can be used to suit our own purposes, trouble begins."

Norther Blogs Burb says: "[Jesus] submitted more than any wife is called to do. More than any employee, husband, child or slave. The authority given to husbands is, as we've seen, the authority to lead as a servant as Jesus did."

Lexie sums it all up as "Restraint of strength is one expression of power"

In the midst of her busy life Carla expresses her desire to model these attitudes, which is surely a good place to leave us all. As I said, do let me know if I missed anyone out!
