WorshipGod06 – Heaven on Earth

WorshipGod06 – Heaven on Earth August 10, 2006

Tim continues his live-blogging through the WG06 conference. I guess what I am doing is “remote blogging”! There is a striking quote from the second session which is based on Hebrews 10:

“By faith we can draw near. We are invited and welcomed into God’s presence. Heaven is not simply an offer for later, but is a place God intends that we visit today, and repeatedly for the rest of our lives.

Here is how this may look in real life: In private – We draw near to God in many ways such as reading Scripture, singing, and prayer. In the church – There are corporate expressions and experiences of drawing near to God such as when we gather for preaching, singing, and praying . . .

When do we get to experience God’s presence in heaven? When do we get to go to heaven? It is now. We have full access even now through the death and resurrection of our Great Priest.”

Incidentally, Tim mentions the security issue in the UK. We are all fine, thank the merciful God. The news over here is saying that the police are claiming that there was a plan to murder on a bigger scale than 9-11. So being British, airport delays will be bourne gladly for the sake of safety. Tim, your toothpaste and gel will be allowed into the hold. No liquids and hand luggage are being allowed on flights as apparently the plot was to use liquid explosives.
