Tweaking My Comment Policy

Tweaking My Comment Policy November 26, 2006
Hi everyone . . . welcome back from your Thanksgiving break!

Unfortunately, over the weekend I have had my first serious attack of what I would call comment spam.

I have a very tolerant approach to comments on this blog; off-topic comments, for example, are not generally deleted.

I have decided quite firmly, however, that I will NOT allow this blog to be used to criticise anyone’s character or behaviour.

Even if we have direct proof that a fellow believer is a liar, thief, or whatever, I do not want to have comments here about those issues.

Criticisms of someone’s teaching, provided it is biblically based and not too emotive, will be permitted.

As soon as comments arrive that are not written in a gracious manner, or which in any way criticise someone’s actions or character rather than their teaching, I will delete them.

Please pray that this latest attack of comment spam abates and things return to normal around here. I hope that I will not have to implement comment moderation prior to publication.

Thanks to all of you who generally write such interesting comments (especially the ones by people who totally disagree with me!)

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
