Mark Driscoll

Mark Driscoll erupted onto the web Christian scene as the brash young “street fighter” pastor of a rapidly growing church which seemed to have largely severed its links with the emerging church over issues like the atonement. No wonder that I found him fascinating.

I interviewed him first by email then have watched with interest his maturing into a man of God with a significant international preaching ministry. He is clearly a prophetic voice called by God to provoke the global church today. When he preached at Jubilee Church, it was a delight to film a video interview. I subsequently captured a video interview with him over the net when we spoke about the resurrection, and his book on doctrine. He was also kind enough to endorse my book.

The Offence of the Cross or Why the day Jesus died is called Good Friday

April 22, 2011

It is astonishing that at the heart of the Christian message of good news lies a death. Of course this good news is only so because of the resurrection, as I argue in my book, but today lets remember the horror of the cross, and how that very shocking nature of the death of our [...]
